The Gods
There is a vast range of gods, and often more than one for each sentient race.Where exactly they came from has never been properly explained, and to name them all would take a very wise and learned sage indeed. Since the creation, they have waxed and waned in relative power, often in synchronicity with the fortunes of their favoured creations, and very occasionally, a god has fallen from power or even been destroyed. Even less frequently, mortals have gained godhood.
It is thus that there are some gods that are well known, almost without exception by almost all the races, and many who are known only by a few, and sometimes only by a few individuals within that race…
The Elven Gods:
Téssalian the Golden (LG) The primary god of the Alfaen – the leader of their pantheon, and one of the strongest gods is Tessalian the Golden. He stands for Alfaen law and the power of magic.

Relationships with other Religions – Believes that the human god Veritas is merely a reflection of Téssalian, so treat the human (Truthsayers) religion with tolerance and respect (tainted with patronisation/condescension)
Churches – An elven built structure in Pacedon, otherwise most

Esstélla, “the Starbinder” (CG) Tessalian’s wife, goddess of travel and exploration, sea travel etc… (very popular amongst the Alfaen)
Religion Name – Wayfarers
Relationships with other Religions – Tolerant of all.
Churches – Some light houses, and shrines on docks.
Tenent – The gods gave us everything we need to navigate and travel the world – so we should.
Rituals – Prayers before setting sail. Thanks upon arriving.

Láude (NN) – God of wild places and Nature. (very popular amongst the Undrean)
Religion Name –
Relationships with other Religions – .Intolerant of most, but as mostly pacafists, that intolerance doesn’t translate to much.
Churches – Some natural looking shrines in the wilderness, special groves. There is one special grove in Pacedon in the Undrean embassy.
Tenent – Nature is to be respected.
Rituals – None beyond murmured prayers when planting, or when killing meat for food etc.

Elansten (NG) – God of love, music, poetry etc

Hölst, “All Father” (LG) – Primary god of the dwarves, of mining, metalcraft and clan.

Verdain (NE)- (dwarven aspect of Volkstein?) – god of gold and hidden treasures

The Human Gods:
Veritas “the Truth Seeker” (LG) – God of Truth and Justice. Also the patron deity of Pacedon.
Religion Name – The Truthsayers
Relationships with other Religions – Tolerant of all but the evil/monstrous gods. Friends with Azimaar the Wise, Volstar the Merchant.
Churches – formal cathedrals, churches, chapels and shrines
Tenent – Upholding the law, society through order and authority of the state. Tolerance for other beliefs
Rituals – Formal prayers in court rooms and other government functions, Mass and hymns at sun down

Azimaar “the Wise” (LN) – God of mages, learning
Religion Name – The Teachers
Relationships with other Religions – Tolerant of all but the evil/monsterous gods. A disdain for Volstar.
Churches – shrines in libraries and schools. A more formal “church” in Pacedon.
Tenent – War is inevitable. Only through strength of arms can peace be bought.
Rituals – Prayers

Brunsk “Father of Battle” (CN) – A god of war/fighting etc(aspect of dwarven version).
Religion Name – Battlepriests
Relationships with other Religions – Tolerant of all gods.
Churches – small shrines only – usually on old battlefields.
Tenent – War is inevitable. Only through strength of arms can peace be bought.
Rituals – Prayers before battle. Ceremonies to remember particular battles on their anniversaries. Ceremony on the Autumn equinox to remember all the fallen from all battles.

Volstar “the Merchant” (LN) – God of trade, money, wealth
Religion Name – Coinspinners/Coincollectors
Relationships with other Religions – Tolerant of all gods (except Volkstein) – Disdain for Mater
Churches – Shrines in most banks, larger temples in all the major cities. Sells scrolls/potions for cash. A profit making organisation!
Tenent – Money makes the world go round
Rituals – Blessings before making transactions.

Gaeda, “Earth Mother” (NG) – God of agriculture, love, home (aspect of Elansten)
Religion Name – Greenfingers
Relationships with other Religions – Good with all except Volkstein

Sven’haeden. “God of Song” (CN) – God of music, gambling and adventure.

Mater, “the injured god” (NG) – God of the poor, downtrodden and sick

Churches – Some small churches in larger cities, shrines elsewhere. Relies on charity and philanthropy.
Tenent – The meek shall inherit the earth
Rituals – Too many to mention. Prayers for everything.

Volkstein “the Dark” (NE) – God of greed, deception and power
Religion Name – Darkbringers
Relationships with other Religions – Almost universally hated.
Churches – None known
Tenent – Power comes from power.
Rituals – Unknown

Durnstang “Lord of the Dead” (LN) – God of the dead.
Religion Name – Peacemakers
Relationships with other Religions – Good with all
Churches – All cemeteries have shrines.
Tenent – Death comes to all.
Rituals – Burial rites

Odin All Father – worshipped exclusively by the Al Shekeim nation
Religion Name – Lightbringers
Relationships with other Religions – They are all false gods. Worship of them forbidden in Al Shekeim.
Churches – large temples, churches and shrines throughout the land.
Tenent – Odin is the one true god and should be worshipped by all. It is though his will that everything has come to be.
Rituals – Prayers in morning and evening, births, deaths and significant dates like midsummer/midwinter etc.

Monsterous Gods:
Grummish the Disfigured (CE) – A god with which to scare the civilised races children. And one worshipped by a lot of orcs (and several other “monstrous” races).

Relationships with other Religions – despised by the human ones.
Churches – none known
Tenent – goblinkind need to take their rightful place in the world.
Rituals – scarring when coming of age.
